About us, Postage and Returns

Welcome to Astute Angling.

We both run our small family business with great enthusiasm, our top priority being customer satisfaction. Quality goods at a value for money price is a close second . We are both fly fishing fanatics and I enjoy fishing the large reservoirs and lochs that we are fortunate to have in the United Kingdom. Mandy isn't so keen on the bigger waters at present but loves visiting smaller fisheries. 

We also operate The Country Sports Store but found it was getting rather too cluttered with so many different categories and decided to start the fly-fishing section on another site which has its own dedicated domain.

This new website is now constructed and is being run by ourselves in an endeavour to keep costs down to a minimum. Professionally built quotes were thousands of pounds and we felt the consumer would rather have value for money than a fancy landing page, which would also have to reflect in the price of our products. 

All our prices are post inclusive and will be sent Economy class with Royal Mail, more expensive items over £20 will be sent Tracked48. We can offer a discount for multiple items which can be posted together, and we are happy to discuss your requirements either by email or via a phone call, if you wish. 

Being country lovers we also are very conscious of the effect packaging has on the environment and we recycle or upcycle wherever possible. This also keeps prices to a minimum.

We have various well-known suppliers A Jensen, Airflo, Leeda, Snowbee and Wychwood to name a few. We try to stock most of their fly-fishing products however if you don’t see what you are looking for, please get in touch and we will do our best to source the item you require.

Returns

We do accept returns however unwanted items being returned for a refund will be refunded only 80% of the item price and we will not refund any postage costs.

In the highly unlikely event that your chosen item is faulty or damaged we will offer that it be repaired or replaced accordingly, if either of these are not possible a refund will be offered.

Clothing 

We are more than happy to exchange clothing for the correct size if you find the item is not a good fit however we do expect you to pay the postage back. We will send out a replacement at our expense. We will do this only once per item.
