Cortland Bamboo Clear Catch and Release Net

Cortland Bamboo Clear Catch and Release Net

The Cortland catch and release net features a soft, clear net material that’s gentle on the fish and won’t tangle, rot or mildew. This clear net won’t spook fish because it virtually disappears underwater. The frame is made from laminated bamboo and hardwood.

Here’s what stands out:

• Fish-friendly clear mesh — the soft transparent netting is designed to reduce slime loss and avoid spooking fish underwater.
• Hook resistance — several users mention the rubberized/clear material tangles less than traditional nylon nets.
• Classic bamboo look — laminated bamboo and hardwood frame gives it that traditional fly-fishing aesthetic.
• Good value — many anglers compare it favorably to much more expensive wooden nets.

A few things to know before buying:

• It’s best suited for small-to-medium trout streams rather than large salmon or heavy river fish.
• This net has been on show and has slight colouring of the transparent netting, a small chip ot the wood at the top of the handle and a few scuff marks. The brand Cortland is on the handle.
• The elastic is strong and the clip in good condtion. The net is unused but has been on a demonstrator.
