Cortland Fast Intermediate Competition Series Fly Line
Product description
The Cortland Fast Intermediate Competition Series Fly Line is designed for stillwater anglers who need to reach the feeding depth quickly while retaining the control and direct contact associated with an intermediate line.
Sitting between a conventional intermediate and faster sinking lines, the Fast Intermediate is particularly useful when trout are feeding beneath the upper layers and you need your flies to reach them efficiently without dropping rapidly into deeper water.
Developed with competition-style stillwater fishing in mind, the line is an excellent choice for fishing buzzers, nymphs, wet flies and lures, allowing anglers to cover water systematically and control the depth of their flies through countdown and retrieve speed.
Its taper is designed to provide positive rod loading and efficient turnover, particularly useful when casting teams of flies or fishing into challenging conditions. The smooth profile also helps maintain good contact throughout the retrieve — an important consideration when detecting subtle takes.
Although designed with the competition angler in mind, you certainly don't need to be fishing a match to benefit from it. For everyday reservoir and stillwater trout fishing, the Cortland Fast Intermediate provides a useful step between a standard intermediate and a conventional sinking line.
A versatile line for anglers who want to get down faster, maintain control and keep their flies working effectively through the taking zone.
