Cortland 444 WF Type 6 Sinking Fly Line – Fast Sinking Trout Line
Product description
The Cortland 444 WF Type 6 Fly Line is a fast-sinking line designed for trout anglers who need to get their flies down quickly and maintain an effective presentation in deeper water.
Part of Cortland's established 444 range, the Type 6 is suited to situations where floating, intermediate and slower sinking lines simply won't reach the required depth efficiently. It's particularly useful on reservoirs and deeper stillwaters, where trout may be holding well below the surface.
The Weight Forward (WF) taper provides positive rod loading and helps turn over teams of flies, weighted patterns, streamers and larger lures. This makes the line a practical choice for anglers employing faster, more aggressive subsurface tactics.
Once beneath the surface, the fast-sinking profile allows flies to reach deeper feeding zones quickly. By varying the countdown before beginning the retrieve, anglers can systematically search different depths until feeding fish are located.
The Cortland 444 Type 6 is particularly effective when fishing lures, streamers and weighted flies, or whenever conditions demand a rapid descent through the water column.
For the stillwater angler carrying several lines or spare spools to cover changing conditions, the 444 Type 6 provides the serious deep-water option at the faster-sinking end of the range.
